IRA / QCD gifts
At 70½+, a qualified charitable distribution straight from your IRA can be a tax-smart way to give.
Appreciated stock
Donating securities that qualify for long-term capital-gain treatment can avoid taxes on the gains and generate a charitable deduction for the value on the date of your gift.

Multiply your donation
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to give to charitable organizations, and some match funds for employee volunteer hours. Most match dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple your gift.
Please check with your company to see if it will match your gift or your volunteer hours to the Regional Trail Corporation. If your employer asks for an Employer Identification Number (EIN), please use 25-1660116.
Your employer will need verification of your contribution. Many companies offer an online gift-verification option; if yours requires written verification, request a form from your company’s human resources department.

Want your gift to stay with your local trail? Designate a chapter and 100% goes to them. Chapters with their own giving page are linked below; for the rest, note the chapter on your check and RTC forwards it in full.

What RTC does with your support
RTC is the backbone the local chapters lean on. We handle the administrative coordination and insurance that keep the chapters covered, and we lead the major fundraising for the big projects: trail rebuilds, surfacing, and extensions that run hundreds of thousands of dollars. The chapters do the day-to-day upkeep; your gift funds the materials, protections, and capital work that volunteer hours alone can’t cover.
- Resurfacing and grading crushed-limestone trail
- Mowing, brush clearing, and storm cleanup
- Benches, kiosks, shelters, and trailhead signage
- Fuel, parts, and equipment for volunteer crews
- Insurance coverage that keeps the chapters and corridors protected
- Securing the licenses, easements, and grants that keep trails public

Covers a chapter membership, which is how most TrailKeepers start, and a season of gloves and blades for one volunteer.
Buys the fuel and saw chain that keep the mowers running through a growing season.
Funds the work a trail needs every few years, from a new bench, kiosk or trailhead sign through to resurfacing, drainage and bridge repair.
